Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is designed as an economic immigration program. It collaborates with the Canadian government through Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Foreign workers, international students, and anyone who has the necessary skills, experience, and education are eligible to apply to the OINP.
Canada's Immigration and Refugee Program identifies and nominates candidates for permanent residence that possesses the skills and expertise Ontario's economy requires, but the Canadian Government makes the final decision whether to approve applications.
What you should know
You can get a nomination in one of three ways:
• Human capital category: for skilled workers with considerable work experience, education, language skills, and a profile in Canada's Express Entry system; or for graduate students
• Ontario business category: for entrepreneurs looking to start a new business, or buy an existing business
• Employer job offer category: for people who have already received a permanent job offer from an Ontario employer

Human capital category
The international graduate streams and Ontario's Express Entry streams are two subcategories of the human capital category.
§ International Graduates
An expression of interest mechanism governs these streams. In order to apply for the Masters Graduate or PhD Graduate streams, you must first register an expression of interest on the OINP e-Filing Portal, receive an invitation to apply you are given a time frame of 2 years to apply after finishing your graduation

Express Entry Ontario
Federal government officials manage these streams through the Express Entry system. A person who wishes to apply for one of Ontario's Express Entry streams must have received a notification of interest from the province and have an updated profile in the government's Express Entry system with their most recent work experience, language tests, and education information.
French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream: for French-Speaking skilled employees who have the appropriate work experience, education, and French and English language skills.
o Human Capital Priorities stream: Professionals with sufficient work experience, a degree, and fluency in English or French may apply to the Human Capital Priorities stream.
o Skilled Trades Stream: for workers who have worked in an appropriate trade occupation in Ontario.
Business category
The business category only consists of one stream. You must be an entrepreneur from outside of Canada who wants to start a new business in Ontario or buy and expand an existing one.

Job Offers from Employers
Employer employment offers are divided into three streams, each of which operates on an expression of interest basis. An employer job offer stream can only be accessed if you have an account on the OINP eFiling Portal, have registered an expression of interest for your employer job offer category, and you have been invited to apply, and you have a full time job offer by an Ontario employer.
Foreign Worker Stream: for skilled professionals coming from other nations.
o International Student Stream: for recent Ontario grads.
o The In-Demand Skills stream is for workers with intermediate skills in certain industries such as agriculture, construction, haulage, and personal support.
Application process
When applying for permanent residence, there are four basic procedures to take:
1. Make certain you are eligible.
Once you've decided which stream you want to apply to, make sure you meet all of the prerequisites for that stream.
2. Create a profile and wait for an invitation to apply or an interest notification.
You must first create a profile in the relevant system for your stream before you can apply to be nominated. A scoring system will be used to rank the profiles.
Top applicants will be invited to apply or will be notified of their interest.
Employer job offer streams and international students: create an OINP e-Filing Portal profile and register an expression of interest for your preferred stream(s).
Express Entry Streams: Create an Express Entry profile with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada.
3. Submit an application to be nominated by the OINP.
You may apply to be nominated by the OINP if you have received an invitation to apply or a notification of interest.
Job offers from employers and international students: if you have been invited to apply, you must do so online within 14 calendar days through the OINP e-Filing Portal.
Express Entry streams: if you got a notification of interest, you must apply online through the OINP e-Filing Portal within 45 calendar days. The application takes between two and three hours to complete.
• For the employer job offer and human capital streams, the application fee is either $1,500 or $2,000
• Each company partner or key staff applicant is eligible for $3,500 in business streams.
Only Visa, Visa Debit, MasterCard, and MasterCard Debit are accepted.

4. Submit an application for permanent residence with the Government of Canada.
Upon approval of your application and nomination by the OINP, you will need to apply for permanent residency with the Immigration and Refugee Council of Canada (IRCC).
Who becomes a permanent resident is determined by the Canadian government.
